The GPH thrill
Like 1918, 1912 was a vintage year for Boston. Fenway Park first opened its gates, the Boston Red Sox won the World Series, and the law firm of Goodwin, Procter & Hoar was founded. All baseball matters aside, Goodwin, Procter & Hoar now has over 400 attorneys working in Boston, New York, and Washington. A full-service firm, Goodwin splits its business into eight overall departments: Corporate, Litigation, Real Estate, Environmental, Labor & Employment, Tax, ERISA/Employee Benefits, and Estate Planning & Administration. If anything, the firm has benefited heartily from Boston's economic expansion throughout the late nineties. In fact, Arthur Greenburg, Goodwin's executive director, told The Connecticut Law Tribune in July 1999 that the firm's profit margin had "thrilled and shocked" the partners.
