Labor leader Established in 1945, Seyfarth, Shaw, Fairweather & Geraldson offers prospective clients "a broad range of legal services in the areas of business law, contracts, employee benefits, environmental, safety and health, and litigation." The firm's primary specialty, however, is labor law. Half of the firm's 400 attorneys devote themselves to labor issues, particularly client counseling and prevention, and litigation, and labor relations. The long arm of Seyfarth Geographically speaking, Seyfarth offers quite a presence, fielding offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Sacramento, San Francisco, Washington, DC, and Brussels. The firm's reach worked to its advantage in January 1999, when Seyfarth lured six attorneys from Day Berry & Howard, one of New England's largest large firms. "We had developed an experienced regional and national practice," one of the defecting partners told The Boston Globe, "and we felt we needed a national law firm to better serve some of our clients."
