iWon Continues to Win Top Honors in User Satisfaction iWon receives the highest user satisfaction scores, among portals, for the fourth consecutive quarter, according to The NPD Group’s latest study
(Irvington, NY – August 1, 2001) –According to The NPD Group, a leading independent international marketing information company, iWon received the highest user satisfaction scores in a study of nine portals for the fourth consecutive quarter. Portals evaluated alongside iWon in the study included AOL, Excite, GO, Lycos, MSN, NBCi, Netscape, and Yahoo! – the top portals as defined by Media Metrix. Additionally, 61% of iWon users gave the site the top overall satisfaction score of “very satisfied” – more than any other portal.
iWon also came in first in 5 of the 10 most important attributes used to determine user satisfaction. iWon finished second or third in each of the remaining attributes.
iWon finished first in the following "most important" user satisfaction attributes:
- No. 1 in reliability
- No. 1 in delivering relevant and accurate search results
- No. 1 in content meeting the users' needs
- No. 1 in being well organized
- No. 1 in having the most up-to-date information
- Ease of use – iWon finished second
- Makes users feel like they aren't "wasting" their time - iWon finished second
- Speed that the pages load - iWon finished third
- Makes searching easy – iWon finished third
- Has a great search engine - iWon finished third
Notable: iWon scored the highest among all portals evaluated when users were asked how often they find what they are looking for -- 87% of iWon users claimed to find what they were looking for all or most of the time when they searched on iWon.
In the seven other secondary satisfaction attributes posed to survey respondents, iWon gained three more first place awards, including “easy on your eyes”, “fun to use” and “distinguishes between ads and information”. iWon placed second for “great for people who use the Internet for work” and “good reputation”.
iWon users are more likely to bookmark, click on an ad and claim that the site aids in online purchasing as well. Internet users continue to bookmark iWon at a higher rate than any other portal, and iWon visitors are clicking on ads and making purchases:
- iWon’s bookmark rate continued to be the highest at 67%, a full 9% higher than the next closest portal.
- 67% of iWon users claimed to have clicked on an ad at iWon, representing the highest click rate of any portal.
- 28% of iWon users claimed that iWon helped them make a purchase.
