iWon.com's Newest $1 Million Winner Exclaims: "That's a lot of Money For A Boy Down in Cotton Country"
Gordon Hicks of Rainsville, AL Becomes iWon's 10th $1 Million Prize Winner

Irvington, NY, August 17, 2000 - Five months after learning about the Internet portal iWon from his son, Gordon Hicks - a 47-year-old man from Rainsville, AL -- was shocked to hear he had been chosen as iWon's tenth million dollar prize winner. "That's a whole lot of money for a boy down in cotton country," Hicks exclaimed. Hicks' million dollar jackpot was announced during the CBS show Big Brother.

One of the fastest-growing Web sites in the history of the Internet, iWon gives away $1 million a month (in addition to $10,000 every day, 30 prizes of $1,000 every week, and $10 million every year) to people who use the site.

Hicks, an iWon user since March 2000, has been out of work since beginning chemotherapy for lymphoma cancer -- explained, "I am not so healthy now, but I have been healthy for 47 years and with winning $1 million I just thank the Lord for what I have," said Hicks. Hicks and his wife Patricia have two sons, Michael 25, and Ryan 12.

As an avid vintage car enthusiast who "loves fiddling around with old cars and trucks," Hicks used iWon to find information on automobiles and to purchase auto parts.

When asked about his plans for the money Hicks said, "I will go away to the shore for a few days, put some money away for my son's education and my family's future. I also think I'll buy Ryan a go-cart to drive around in the back yard. And I'm even thinking of becoming a car dealer." He also plans to give money to his church and to his son's Boy Scout troupe, so that they can fix the air conditioning in the clubhouse.

"We welcome Gordon and Patricia Hicks into the iWon winner's circle," said Bill Daugherty, iWon Founder and co-CEO. "The best part of iWon is that it rewards real people for doing what millions already do online -- such as checking e-mail, shopping online, searching the Web, checking sports scores or following the stock market."
