iWon.com Continues Winning Streak
iWon.com Ranked 1st for Advanced Search - Beating Out Google, Altavista, HotBot, MSN, Excite and More

Announcement Comes on Heels of iWon.com Ranking 1st in NPD User Satisfaction Survey of 27,000

Irvington, NY, July 20, 2000 - iWon.com, one of the fastest growing websites in Internet history, continues its winning streak, ranking #1 in Advanced Search on the Internet, beating out search engines like Google, AltaVista, MSN, Excite, HotBot and more (Search Engine Showdown, July 2000). This comes on the heels of iWon ranking 1st in User Satisfaction in the Search and Portal Site Tracking Study conducted by The NPD Group, a leading independent provider of marketing information on consumer purchasing and behavior in the U.S. and around the world.

iWon.com was a first time participant in both the Search Engine Showdown and the NPD Survey.

Search Engine Showdown, the users' guide to Web searching, compares and evaluates Internet search engines from the searcher's perspective. Developed originally as a way to keep track of the search engines and share that information, the site has grown to include a search engine features chart, an online newsletter, statistical analysis and search strategies. The findings for July state that for 33 specific, single word queries, iWon Advanced Search found more hits than any other search engine including Google, AltaVista and Fast.

The NPD Tracking Study asks a representative sample of visitors to major search and portal sites to rate the sites on 21 key attributes as to their level of user satisfaction. iWon.com ranked either #1 or #2 in 20 of the 21 attributes. More than 27,000 surveys were completed by users of Yahoo!, AOL, Excite, Lycos, MSN, Netscape, AltaVista, Ask Jeeves, Google, The GO Network, GoTo, WebCrawler, HotBot, and iWon. This study has been conducted every quarter since 1997.
