iWon Announces First Annual $10 Million Tax Day Winner
San Jose Resident, Lee Truong, Can Barely Control Excitement
Irvington, NY, April 17, 2000 - Internet loyalty portal iWon.com, one of the fastest growing web sites in the history of the Internet, tonight awarded it's first Annual $10 Million prize to Lee Truong of San Jose, CA. Upon hearing the news that he had been awarded the iWon Annual $10 Million prize, Truong was brought to tears. His parents raced to embrace him on stage.
Lee is a first generation Vietnamese-American. Lee's parents immigrated to the United States in 1976. Having lost everything in the Vietnam War, his parents were looking for a better life for their children. The family's American dream has come true.
"I am stunned that I won $10 Million for doing something I would have been doing anyway," commented Truong through tears of joy. "My parents brought me here and have struggled for 26 years to give my sister, my brother and me a better life. This money will allow me to give back to my family. I will buy my parents a better house and send my Mom and Dad back to Vietnam to visit family, some of whom they haven't seen for nearly 20 years."
Truong, who is currently studying to be a graphic artist, has no plans to put off his schooling. "I have been studying to be a graphic artist and this money will not change that. I still would like to get my degree and graduate."
Truong was awarded the iWon $10 Million Annual prize during the iWon.com Annual $10 Million Giveaway, broadcast live on the CBS television network at 8-8:30PM ET/CT (delayed PT).
