iWon Tops Portals in Overall Satisfaction


(Irvington, NY - April 2, 2001) –According to The NPD Group, a leading independent international marketing information company, iWon received the highest user satisfaction scores in a study that also included Yahoo, MSN, AOL, Lycos, GO, Netscape, NBCi, and Excite – the top portals as defined by Media Metrix. Additionally, more iWon users gave the site the top overall satisfaction score “very satisfied,” and ranked iWon “much better” than any other portal’s users.

iWon also scored first in 6 of the 10 most important attributes used to determine user satisfaction. iWon tied for first in a seventh, and in the remaining three attributes, iWon finished second and tied for third.

About the Study
The data presented in the NPD Winter 2001 Search & Portal Study Report were compiled by NPD Online Research from 19,956 surveys completed and submitted in first quarter, 2001, on the NPD Online Research Survey Site. Surveys were administered to an Internet Representative sample drawn from NPD's Online Panel (with final data weighted to be representative of the Internet Population). The portals evaluated in the study included AOL, Excite, GO, HotBot, iWon, Lycos, MSN, NBCi, Netscape, and Yahoo!, among others.
