Childhood: Brain Stem Glioma                   More info on this condition
 Staging
There is no formal staging system for childhood brain stem glioma. Treatment depends on whether or not the child was previously treated.

The following terms are used to describe the disease:

Untreated: This means the child has not received treatment for the cancer yet. However, the patient may have received therapy to alleviate symptoms of the disease.

Recurrent: The cancer has come back after treatment. It may recur in the brain or elsewhere in the body.
