 Stem Cell Transplantation
Stem cell transplantation is being investigated as a treatment for Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia. Patients are infused with stem cells from a donor who matches the patient's tissue type (HLA type), a process that stimulates the regrowth of healthy bone marrow and blood cells. The donor may be a relative, usually a brother or sister, or an unrelated donor.

Biological Therapy
Two main biological therapies, interferons and gene therapy, are being investigated for the treatment of WM. Both techniques are designed to boost the immune system and helps fight cancer cells.
