Scientists are investigating the effects of various chemotherapy drugs on vaginal cancer diagnosed at different stages. The NCI has undertaken a study into the effectiveness of chemotherapy with vinorelbine and paclitaxel plus radiation therapy in treating patients with advanced cancer arising in the pelvis.
Another study is examining the effectiveness of paclitaxel in treating patients with advanced, resistant-to-treatment or recurrent cervical or vaginal cancer.
