LEARNLETS
How do I figure out the gas mileage for my car?

Follow these steps:
1. Fill your car's gas tank.
2. Before you drive away, write down the odometer reading.
3. Drive until you need more gas.
4. Refill the gas tank.
5. Record how much gas it took to fill the tank this time.
6. Write down the odometer reading.
7. Subtract the first odometer reading from the second one: This is the number of miles (or kilometers) you drove since the last time you filled up.
8. Divide the number of miles or kilometers driven by the gallons or liters of gas you just put in the tank. This is your gas mileage.

Here's an example: Say you drove 124 miles (198 kilometers) and used 5.6 gallons (21 liters). Your mileage is 124/5.6 or 22 miles per gallon. (In metric measure, it would be 198/21 or about 9.5 kilometers per liter.)
