How can I remove red wine stains? |

If you can get to the spill immediately, try dumping a large amount of table salt on it. The salt will absorb most of the wine before a stain has a chance to set. This works particularly well on carpets and tablecloths, because you can vacuum the (now purple) salt and add more as needed, then wash.
Pouring white wine on the stain is another method to try.
