How do I cut and eat a mango? |
|
 |
1. Make a circular cut around the equator of the mango, stopping at the stone.
2. Twist the two halves apart with your hands.
3. Scoop and eat the stoneless half with a small spoon.
4. Remove the stone with a knife, then eat the flesh like the first half. No mess at all!
|
 |
1. Don't expect perfect wedges.
2. Cut around the stone, using two straight cuts down the length of the mango on opposite sides.
3. Once you have cut those off, you can cut off the other sides.
4. Slice the meat down toward the skin, but leave the skin intact.
5. Once that's done, turn the piece of mango inside out (so the meat is poking outward and the skin is poking in) and cut along the skin to release the meat. Usually I do this with mango chunks, cutting across and down the mango instead of just down.
