How do I make whipped cream? |
|
 |
1. Purchase heavy whipping cream. It comes in little cartons in the dairy section of your grocery store. 2. Begin with very cold cream--for the best results, also chill your mixing bowl and beaters. 3. Start mixing the cream at medium speed and increase it to high. You will want to scrape the sides of the bowl as you mix. 4. As the cream begins to thicken in the bowl, you should stop the mixer and raise the beaters. When you raise the beaters and the cream forms small peaks that hold their shape, you have whipped cream. The amount of time this takes can vary. 5. Just don't whip too long, or you'll make butter! You may or may not add sugar depending on the recipe you're using. Vanilla and other flavorings may also be added, and corn starch can be added to give the cream more stability.
