How do I decorate a pasta plate?
Decorating the plate can be the simplest part of preparing a meal. First, identify the main colors you see. Contrasting colors are always appealing in foods. If your pasta has a cream sauce (white), a great garnish would be chopped fresh basil sprinkled over the top, or around the edge of the plate. If your pasta has a red sauce, try sprinkling fresh grated parmesean cheese over the top just before serving (so it won't have time to soak up the red color). Some pastas may look nicer when the sauce is carefully poured over the top center, on the plate, instead of mixing it up before you plate it. Another great idea for pasta is to use both red and white sauces on top of the plate of pasta, but not mixed together. Let the eater do their own mixing at the table. This creates a wonderful pink sauce that tastes and looks good.
