How can I make my own peanut butter? |
|
 |
Use a food processor to make peanut butter without preservatives. Let it rip until the peanuts are completely smooth, or pulse it for chunky peanut butter. Peanut oil, salt, and sugar are optional. Keep your fresh peanut butter refrigerated so it won't turn rancid.A food processor is your best bet for homemade peanut butter. Let it rip until completely smooth, or pulse it for chunky. You shouldn't need any extra oil, but if it is too dry, you could add peanut oil. Salt and sugar are optional. Beware, however, this will separate more readily than commercial peanut butter--and also will go rancid sooner. The solution to both is to refrigerate it, although that makes it harder to spread.
