LEARNLETS
How do I steam vegetables?
Steamed or microwaved vegetables, whether fresh or frozen, retain their nutrients better than canned or over-boiled veggies.

Chop fresh vegetables or break up clumps of frozen vegetables to help them cook faster. Microwave the veggies in a covered microwave-safe bowl or small, round casserole dish with a few tablespoons of water. Use more water to cook fresh veggies, and less water to cook frozen ones, which already contain water. Always stir your vegetables halfway through the cooking time to heat them evenly.

Be careful when you handle the bowl or dish. It--and the veggies inside--will be very hot.
