LEARNLETS
How can I prevent toiletries from exploding in my suitcase?
Before packing bottled toiletries like shampoo, open the bottles and squeeze some of the air out while replacing the cap. This way, when the bottles are on the plane at a lower pressure, the air inside them won't force the contents out all over the clothes--the air has room to expand. You can also cover the caps of flip-top bottles with clear packing tape to make sure they don't open in-flight.

To be extra safe, place any bottles with liquid contents in a sealed plastic bag.
