How do I keep my ears from "popping" during the takeoff and landing of an airplane?
Chewing gum will reduce the discomfort for you or for your children. Babies will be comforted if they can nurse or drink from a bottle during the takeoff and landing of your flight.CAUTION: Don't give gum to small children who tend to swallow it, because swallowing gum might cause them to choke.

When you need to relieve the pressure in your ears, pinch your nose, close your mouth, and "blow" (not too hard).

Keep your mouth open. This will help keep the pressure the same on both the inside and outside of your ear, so your ears won't pop.
