LEARNLETS
What is departure tax?
Departure tax is a fee some governments charge for leaving their country. It usually ranges between $10 and $30 (U.S.), and is paid at your point of departure. Find out before you leave the country whether there is a departure tax, how much it is, and reserve that amount in cash (credit cards and other forms of payment are usually not accepted). You may not be allowed to board your flight, train, and so on, without payment.
