Consider what else you might want
Well, actually, you're going to need some way to sharpen and preserve your knives.- A sharpening steel is often provided with cutlery sets, and a few swipes before each use will keep your edges nice and tidy. If you let the blades get very dull, though, an oilstone, or a ceramic sharpening device works well. Electric sharpeners, that use diamond-impregnated materials, can work very well but be careful not to damage the blade with them.
A wooden block, with slots for holding knives, is the best way to store your knives but can be pricey. The cost might be worth it, though, if your knives are getting banged around in a cluttered drawer.-end-
