| Imagine celebrating your 50th birthday with a $1,000,000 present from iWon! "I work at the Environmental design library at Cal Poly Pomona University and my husband Joe called me at work and said, 'I have some papers for you to sign and they're really important.' I got a little nervous and thought, 'this is probably bad news.' I even called my mother to see if she was ok. A little while later, my husband arrived at the library with iWon and the Inside Edition crew. He walked inside and the first thing he said was, 'Happy Birthday!' (My 50th birthday was March 2nd.) Then, they presented me with the check for $1,000,000! I was so excited at first - it was such an unbelievable surprise! My supervisor cried and the students that I work with were thrilled. Everyone is just so happy! My children are especially excited. I have three kids: Joseph, Megan and Michael - and I expect them all to hit me up for cars. In fact, my daughter Megan already has a black Volkswagen Jetta picked out! We haven't decided exactly what we will do with the money yet - we'll either look at a bigger house, or remodel the one we have. But one thing's for sure, we'll give some of the money to charity. My daughter and I have been affiliated with different organizations for years, and we always said that if we ever won anything, we'd give some money to the homeless. Now we have the chance! I first started using iWon about a year and a half ago. I heard about it on television. A disabled, single mother had won $10,000 and I thought, 'That's really nice. She was able to win just by clicking on iWon.' It really seemed like a nice, friendly kind of site. Since then, I've been using it faithfully to check the news and use the search engine. I used to think, 'I really like the way the site looks and works. Getting the entries is just a bonus.' Still, I must confess, I would watch other people win and wonder, 'Gee, why not me?' I guess I can't say that anymore! It's starting to sink in a little, but at the risk of sounding trite - I still feel that it's not real. It truly is the ultimate birthday gift and it definitely eases the pain of turning 50!" |
